Sites get dropped at a small proxy that runs on your Mac itself, so the page won’t load in any browser. Apps are watched by a small helper: when one on your blocklist tries to launch, it’s hidden and closed on the spot. Nothing destructive, no files touched. ### I always cave and unblock. How do the lock modes stop me? Each block has a lock mode. Off lets you pause or stop after a short wait. Strict makes that wait longer and makes you type “I want to break my focus” to quit early. Hardcore can’t be stopped until the timer ends, with one emergency pass a week. Pick the mode for how weak you’ll feel later, not how strong you feel now. ### Does Blocker read my browsing? No. To serve the blocked page over HTTPS, Blocker installs one local certificate that does a single job: show the blocked page for sites on your list. Sites outside your blocklist are not decrypted, read, or logged. ### What data stays on my Mac, and what is sent? Your blocklist, schedules, settings, and browsing activity stay on your Mac. The app sends product analytics and crash reports to PostHog in the EU. Events describe actions, such as adding a domain, without including the domain, URL, schedule name, or text you enter.
