Sites get dropped at a small proxy that runs on your Mac itself, so the page won’t load in any browser. Apps are watched by a small helper: when one on your blocklist tries to launch, it’s hidden and closed on the spot. Nothing destructive, no files touched.
Each block has a lock mode. Off lets you pause or stop after a short wait. Strict makes that wait longer and makes you type “I want to break my focus” to quit early. Hardcore can’t be stopped until the timer ends, with one emergency pass a week. Pick the mode for how weak you’ll feel later, not how strong you feel now.
No. To serve the blocked page over HTTPS, Blocker installs one local certificate that does a single job: show the blocked page for sites on your list. Sites you haven’t blocked are never read, decrypted, or logged. There’s no account, it runs offline, and nothing about your browsing leaves your Mac.

The local certificate lets Blocker show its blocked page when you open an HTTPS site on your blocklist. Approving it takes Touch ID or your Mac password. Blocking still works if you skip this step. Sites outside your blocklist are not decrypted, read, or logged.
Your blocklist, schedules, settings, and browsing activity stay on your Mac. The app sends product analytics and crash reports to PostHog in the EU. Events describe actions, such as adding a domain, without including the domain, URL, schedule name, or text you enter. After licence activation, analytics use your licence email as the identifier.
